The Wet Season is - you guessed it – the wet season. It's the time of year we get the majority of our rain.
This is our favourite time of year as the attractions are not so busy, the wildlife is abundant, the landscape is lush and green, creeks and waterfalls are in full flow and the evening lightning storms are better than fireworks over the Sydney Harbour Bridge on New Years Eve.
Whilst the 4WD tracks and some walking tracks close due to flooding, the majority of the Park remains open year round as much of this is by sealed road.
Some attractions like Wangi Falls close for swimming but remain open for viewing. And what a view, the water comes over the edge with such force that it can be heard from a great distance and makes for excellent photos. Florence Falls and Buley Rockhole, which are the closest to us generally remain open for swimming year round.
